Eins nach Andern (Etude) is an invitation from Samuel Feldhandler to Susanne Songi Griem, Mzamo Nondlwana, Lena Schattenberg and Elizabeth Ward, four artists from the Viennese dance scene and with different dance backgrounds, to bring a structured improvisation to life together. This improvisation is based on the simple idea of copying music in the body, or in other words, translating it through dance.
Eins nach Andern (Etude) is composed as a score that determines the entrances and exits and thus the length of the performances of the five dancers. The whole thing takes place with the playback of a live radio station, which is translated into movement by the performers in various formations (from solos and duos to quintets).
